Enhancing the UK’s reputation
With the UK playing an integral role on the world’s aviation stage, it is crucial we modernise airspace, not just for the UK’s benefit but for the benefit of others who use it.
Advances in aircraft and air traffic control capabilities, as well as a desire to be more sustainable, mean that other countries are pressing ahead with modernising their systems, while our airspace risks lagging behind if we don’t do the same.
The UK has always been a leader in the aviation industry; from piloting the first transatlantic flight to the development of Concorde, we have a proud history to draw on. However, it’s important that the UK aviation industry continues to innovate and seizes the opportunity to build back better following the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring our reputation as a world leading aviation hub remains. Airspace modernisation is one way to do just this.
Alongside this, upgrading our airspace will enable the UK aviation industry to take full advantage of modern aviation technologies. These will support further growth across the industry and the country, as well as helping to maintain the UK aviation sector’s global standing.
